Former Carpinteria track star Vincent Rinaldi is having a big season at Chico State.

Rinaldi, a sophomore, clocked 20.98 seconds in the 200 and finished second at the meet. The time was a NCAA Division 2 provisional mark and earned him All-CCAA honors.

In the 100, he finished fourth in 10.58, the fourth-fastest time in Chico State history.

In the prelims, he won his heat in the 100 at 10.71 and finished second in the 200 in 21.22.

Rinaldi capped his weekend with legs on third-place 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams. The Wildcats went 41.26 in the 4×100, the seventh-fastest time in program history. The 4×400 clocked 3:14.45, just three-one-hundredths of a second shy of earning a spot in the Chico State top 10.

Rinaldi will be among a handful of Chico State men’s track & field athletes competing this weekend at the Azusa Pacific Franson Last Chance meet.
