Pacific Pride Foundation (PPF), in partnership with House Of Pride and Equality (HOPE), will host the second free Pride Movie Night in Santa Maria with the feature film “Migration,” screening 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21 at Regal Cinemas, 100 Town Center E.
The film is about the importance of change and expanding one’s horizons. To attend, register here.
The event starts at 4 p.m. with a pre-screening party at PPF’s Santa Maria location, 105 N. Lincoln St. Food and soft drinks, catered from La Picosita Restaurant and Diana’s Bakery, will be provided.
Pre-screening party attendees can play games, and learn more about PPF, HOPE, and other community partners.
“This is a great event for the whole family,” said Maria Melo, PPF’s chief programs officer. “We are excited to be partnering with so many other organizations to meet the needs of our flourishing Santa Maria community.
“Our hope is that, through this event, we are able to show Santa Maria that we’re here, we’re queer, and we aren’t going anywhere.”
Pacific Pride has been working on building its suite of programs in Santa Maria, and in north Santa Barbara County as a whole. Santa Maria programs manager, Jenise T. Coates, worked to build a Programming Form to better understand the unique needs of the North County region.
Coates’s hope is that, through increased visibility in Santa Maria, people will continue to support and bolster the LGBT+ community that thrives there.
Interested attendees are encouraged to register for the event as soon as possible, as space is limited and spots will fill up quickly. People can register at this link.
