The Performing & Visual Arts Camp with the Santa Barbara School of Performing Arts will bring four performances of “In the Heights” to La Cumbre Junior High JoAnn Caines Theatre, Aug. 8-10.

The show is directed by Bella Holland, music director Dauri Kennedy, band director Jay Real and choreographer Karyn Laver.

“In the Heights” is a musical with concept, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes.

The story is a romance as well as a celebration of community, culture and aspirations. The score blends hip-hop, salsa, merengue and soul.

Performances will be 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8; 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday; and a 7 p.m. show on Saturday.

General admission $25; students, seniors and staff, $15.
