Cate boys volleyball swept Beacon Hill in three sets in their CIF-SS Div. 6 wildcard matchup on Wednesday, 25-11, 26-16, 25-17.
The Rams defense was a force all night long, with Lucia Tann and Lucas Huiner collecting 11 digs apiece. Meanwhile, Max DeVore and Oliver Lee each tallied eight digs.
Offensively, Ben Richmond led the team with 12 kills while DeVore ended the match with eight. They were both successful from the service line as well with six and three aces, respectively.
Henry Bouma also had eight kills with just one error and Zadin Stephens facilitated the offense from the setter position.
“The team really plays for each other,” Cate coach KC Collins said. “They shake off each other’s mistakes quickly and are so genuine in celebrating each other’s successes on the court. It is so fun to watch and we hope to continue the momentum into our next match.”
The Rams will now hit the road to take on Malibu High in the opening round of the CIF-SS Div. 6 bracket on Friday at 5 p.m.
