Cate boys water polo got off to a hot start and never looked back en route to a 14-4 win over Foothill Tech on Thursday in Ventura.

“It is never easy to get a league win on the road, and our guys took care of business,” Cate head coach Jesse Morrison said. “While our attention to detail could be better at times, I was pleased with the effort our guys put in.”

The Rams raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter and continued to pull away as the game went on, including a five-goal third quarter to put the nail in the coffin.

Fletcher Prince and Sebastian Brine each scored three times to lead the Cate offense, while Liam Moes and Emmanuel Brine each scored twice.

Tristan Maigret, Jae Wykoff, Lucian Tann and Aydin Barry rounded out the scoring.

Prince and Elliott Paige dished out two assists apiece, while Paige also tallied a pair of steals. In the cage, Andrew Sheshunoff collected 10 saves.

The Rams will compete in the Buena Tournament this weekend.
