Cate cross country turned in a stellar showing at the Twilight Invitational at Lake Casitas on Wednesday.

The Rams’ boys team captured first place, while the girls team recorded a third-place finish.

Despite missing their top two runners, the Cate boys rallied to the title thanks in part to the back-to-back finish of Miles Williams and Bruce Li in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Meanwhile, Jackson Muller came in eighth, Ian Sheshunoff tallied a ninth-place finish and Ethan Qui crossed the finish line in 13th.

“The rest of the guys stepped up and ran in close packs with our top five all finishing in the top thirteen,” Cate head coach Tim Weir said.

On the girls side, Sophie Blank led the charge with a second-place individual showing, while Aggie McTigue came in seventh place.

The Rams will compete in the Dos Pueblos Invitational on Saturday.
