Cate track & field had 10 individuals and two relay teams advance to the CIF-SS Div. 4 prelims after strong performances at the Tri-Valley League Finals on Friday in Carpinteria.
Francesca Sutch earned a pair of individual wins, taking first place in the 400 meter and the 800 meter.
Meanwhile, Emerson Evans was the only other Ram to pick up multiple first-place finishes, registering personal records in the long jump and triple jump.
The other two top finishers for Cate were Everest Schipper (1,600 meter) and Zach Goins (triple jump).
Finishing second in their respective events were Ethan Rehnborg (400 meter), Sophie Blank (800 meter, 1,600 meter), Schipper (3,200 meter), Miles Thompson (triple jump) and Muhsin Abdul-Hakim (shot put).
Sebastian Sutch took home third place in both the 800 and 1,600-meter races.
As for the relays, the girls 4×400 relay squad crossed the finish line first and the boys 4×400 relay team qualified with a second-place finish.
CIF-SS Div. 4 prelims will be held next Saturday at Carpinteria High beginning at 11 a.m.
