Grace Johnson and Maya Blattberg led a balanced Cate offense with 10 kills apiece, as the Rams swept West Valley in Hemet, 25-15, 25-20, 25-19, on Saturday to advance to the CIF-SS Division 6 girls volleyball quarterfinals.

Riley Borchardt added seven kills, Elise Guerrand-Hermes tallied five  and Chidera Chukwumerije and Kenzie Davidson shared 4 apiece for the Rams.

“A key factor to the successful balance of kills was the solid passing of Guerrand-Hermes and libero Grace Blankenhorn,” said Cate assistant K.C. Collins.

Blankenhorn led the defense with 19 digs and Borchardt added 16.

The Rams go back on the road for the quarterfinals, traveling to Valley View in Moreno Valley.
