On May 19, 2026, after a long battle with her terminal illness, Cathy Dalisay Geddry transitioned into a new life in the spiritual realm of her heavenly Father.
She was the daughter of Pacifico and Rosario Dalisay, who preceded her in death. Her brother Les Dalisay is the only remaining offspring of their parents.
Cathy was married to Sgt. Michael Geddry Sr., a Vietnam veteran, who courted her for 10 years before they were joined in marriage at the Tropical Gardens of Queen Lili‘uokalani on the island of Maui, Hawaii.
While she bore no children in her marriage with her husband, she assumed with love the duties of a mother to his children Mike Jr., Johnny, Steve, George and Shane; a grandmother to their offspring Joey, Amanda, Sloan and Andrew; and a great-grandmother to Amanda’s sons Kaleb and Kodi.
Cathy gave endless love and unyielding dedication to those she chose as her close friends, who found they could turn to her to stand with them, without bias or judgment, in their good, bad and ugly circle of life’s experiences. She provided comfort and solace to her friends and strangers during turmoil in their lives.
Her 38 years of public service began as a radiology coordinator at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara and later at Goleta Valley Hospital, where she unknowingly became an exemplary model of professionalism, filled with human kindness, compassion, and dedication to her patient clientele, physicians and coworkers.
Cathy was a member of VFW Post 2829, Five Cities, Women’s Auxiliary, where she and her husband assisted countless generations of veterans with broken spirits arising from their traumatic combat experience.
In addition to her volunteer service at the VFW Post’s events, Cathy served as the catering director for the Santa Maria Museum of Flight. She and the wives of the museum’s Board of Directors, as well as countless members and friends, produced the finest cuisine for contracted events at the museum and its Thunder Over The Valley Air Show.
She will be well missed by her husband, his children, and all her close friends.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m.-noon, June 6 at Dudley Hoffman Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be provided to Cathy Dalisay Memorial Pets in Need Palo Alto Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., 3281 E. Bayshore Road, Palo Alto, CA 94303, or Staten Island, N.Y. 10306. Tax ID: EIN 94-6139667. Tax ID: EIN02-0554654.
