Cecilia L. Villa, departed peacefully on May 30, 2021, at the age of 86, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by Jenny Ortega and Danny Marabilla. Cecilia was a descendant of the Camarillo family; born and raised in Carpinteria.
She married her husband Pack Villa on March 6, 1952. They shared a birthday of July 21; he was born 1925, she in 1934. They were married 35 years, raising five children together: Jenny Fuente (Raymond Fuente), Susie Villa, Lorraine Lewelling (Tom Lewelling); Josephine Rojo (Frank Rojo); and Packie Villa (Vickie Villa).
Cecilia leaves behind two brothers, Robert and Albert Bustillo, and her best childhood friend Eva Ortiz. Cecilia’s matriarchy extends to 23 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren. Given the nickname “Y tu nana,” Cecilia’s love for friends and family was always endless.
Throughout her life she enjoyed an eclectic variety of music. Her number one precious being Elvis Presley, The King. She also loved Vincente Fernandez, whom she said had the most beautiful voice.
She was a hardcore Dodgers fan, she loved sporting her Y tu nana Dodgers jersey with her lucky number 5, while attending live games or watching on the screen. At the last live game she attended, she stubbornly wouldn’t be dragged away from the game early by her family, witnessing Dodger history as they won with multiple grand slams.
Leaving us a prime example of strength, courage and compassionate love, we will miss Cecilia’s contagious smile, genuine heart, laughter, and wise words of encouragement. We will also miss her elegant style, the grace she held herself with at family events and her glowing presence.
You have always been devoted, as a child, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. You now have gracefully drifted to those who are ready to greet and welcome you with open arms. With the imprint you have left behind on all of us, you will be cherished and honored with the most infinite gratitude.
With the words you always told us “Take care of yourself. I love you,” we genuinely return it, from all the hearts you have touched — “We will take care. We love you.”
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our lady of Guadalupe, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.
