Three Dos Pueblos golfers shot personal bests to lead the Chargers to a 245-256 Channel League victory over Santa Ynez on Thursday at Glen Annie Golf Course.
Chelsi Ramirez was the medalist with a best score of 42, Camille Robinson shot a 48 and Marisa Ortiz carded a 55.
“Some of our usual scorers had a tough round for us out there today and they were feeling pretty terrible about it because they felt like it would cost the team the match,” DP coach Dan Choi said. “We had some of our younger girls (Chelsi, Camille and Marisa) really step up today and rally us to a hard fought victory.”
Senior Kathy Ramirez-Gijon shot a 48 in her last home match.
“She started out pretty rough, but in true Kathy fashion she gutted it out and didn’t give up and carded a much-needed score of 48,” said Choi.
Santa Ynez was led by Ryann Melville with a 47 and Morgan Blunt shot a 48.
Dos Pueblos improved to 6-5 overall and 4-4 in league.
