Chelsi Ramirez and Victoria Chen both shot in the 30s, leading the Dos Pueblos girls golf team to a 230-254 win over San Marcos in a Channel League match on Monday at Glen Annie Golf Course.
Ramirez was the match medalist with a 37 and Chen carded a 39 for the unbeaten Chargers, who finished the first round of league play at 5-0 and are 7-0 overall.
“Our golfers were up for the challenge with four of the scoring athletes all equalling or bettering their season bests, and Chelsi just being one stroke off hers,” said DP coach Dan Choi. “Victoria Chen posted a score in the thirties for the first time in a match this year.”
San Marcos was led by Stella Ashmalla with a personal best of 43 and Riley O’Brien at 46. Evelina Erickson shot a 48 for a PR. She had a birdie in her nine-hole round and Ashamalla had three pars.
“We had a solid team score today, but lost to a talented DP team,” said San Marcos coach Sarah Ashton. “DP is a well-rounded team and they know Glen Annie well.”
San Marcos (6-5, 3-2) plays Santa Barbara High on Tuesday at Sandpiper in a battle for second place.
