Cate boys lacrosse powered its way to a low-scoring 5-4 win over Simi Valley in the CIF-SS Div. 3 playoff opener on Wednesday.
The Rams (6-7) will look to carry this momentum into a matchup with Agoura in Round 2 on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Dos Pueblos and Santa Barbara High boys lacrosse teams each had their seasons come to an end in the first round of the CIF-SS Div. 2 playoffs on Wednesday.
The Chargers and Dons were the top two teams in town this season, earning co-Channel League titles. It was Dos Pueblos’ third consecutive league title, while it was the first in Santa Barbara High’s program history.
Dos Pueblos fell at the hands of Vista Murrieta by a score of 15-6, while Santa Barbara High dropped its road matchup to Aliso Niguel by a score of 14-7.
