The calendar has flipped to November, and with it comes the beginning of the CIF-SS football playoffs.

Santa Barbara High and Dos Pueblos will represent the area in the 11-man football postseason, while Laguna Blanca’s 8-man squad will also begin its quest for a CIF-SS title on Friday.

The Dons garnered the No. 2 seed in the Division 6 playoffs following a 7-3 regular season and a Channel League championship.

As a result, they will begin the playoffs at home on Friday at 7 p.m. at Peabody Stadium against Fullerton High, which went 8-2 and captured the Kappa League title.

Meanwhile, the Chargers were slotted into Division 10 after pulling out a dramatic win over San Marcos last week to move to 6-4 and clinch third place in the Tri-County League.

Dos Pueblos will head down south for its playoff opener, taking on Brentwood High on Friday at 7 p.m. Brentwood went 7-3 in the regular season and earned an at-large bid out of the Gold Coast League.

In 8-man action, Laguna Blanca was awarded the No. 2 seed in Division 2 after going 5-1 and collecting the Frontier League title.

The Owls will play host to league rival Malibu for the playoff opener on Friday. Malibu went 4-4 in the regular season.

Laguna Blanca’s last game of the regular season came against Malibu on Friday, Oct. 23, and the Owls came out on top by a score of 60-32.
