The Coastal Dodgers Collegiate and High School teams are set to compete in a busy summer of baseball across the Central Coast.
This year’s season is the 15th for the Santa Barbara Grizzlies Organization, while it is the ninth summer for the Coastal Dodgers high school team.
The organization is overseen by Tom Myers, the local area scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Myers has been a professional scout for 15 years and was an assistant coach at the Division I level for UCSB and Santa Clara.
The Coastal Dodgers collegiate team opened its 2026 season last weekend by splitting a two-game set with the San Luis Obispo Blues at Sinsheimer Field. They will play a 25-game schedule, with Dunn High School serving as the team’s home field.
The collegiate team will look to repeat as Southern Division champions in the Golden Coast Collegiate League. The team is coached by Steven Hardesty, Bob Frysto and Frank Paez.
The Dodgers boast college baseball talent from up and down the Central Coast, including Brad Cekada (SBCC), Brendon Cekada (SBCC), Kieran Babai (SBCC), Andrew Vega (San Jose State), Shane Grant (Allan Hancock) and Rueben Servin (Arroyo Grande High).
Meanwhile, the Coastal Dodgers high school team is set to kick off its season in June and will play a 14-game season in the Golden Coast Wood Bat Summer League.
The high school team is coached by Isaac Baez, who is currently an assistant coach at Pioneer Valley High School.
