A late April rainstorm dumped one-half inch of rain over many areas of Santa Barbara County along with a dusting of snow at higher elevations.

But some warmer weather is in sight before another cool down, according to the National Weather Service office in Oxnard.

Following mostly cloudy and cool conditions with a slight chance of lingering showers Sunday, skies will clear some Monday and more Tuesday.

Highs should be in the 70s, which is near to slightly above normal in many areas, on Tuesday, according to the forecast.

But a few degrees of cooling is likely Wednesday, with minor day to day changes in temperatures for the end of the week.

Next weekend will bring more cool weather to the area with high temperatures dipping down to the 60s.

“As expected, models have some differences in the details, but either model indicates rather unsettled weather for early May,” according to forecasters.

While it’s still early, the forecast includes a possible chance of rain showers later in the week.

Meanwhile, the recent storm delivered approximately one-half inch of rain to many areas, according to the two-day report from the Santa Barbara County Flood Control District.

Rainfall totals over the two days were 0.85 inches at Figueroa Mountain, 0.57 inches at Buellton, 0.58 inches in Lompoc, 0.54 inches in Los Alamos, 0.35 inches in Santa Barbara, 0.34 inches in Santa Maria, 0.33 inches in Goleta and 0.15 inches in Cuyama, the county agency reported.
