SBCC had a tough shooting day and Pasadena City took advantage to post a 70-44 men’s basketball win in the L.A. Valley Monarch Classic.
The Vaqueros (0-2) turned the ball over 27 times and made just 27.3% from the field (15-55). They also struggled with 3-pointers, making just 4-18 in the first half and 5-30 for the game.
Kile Kleiner, a 6-5 sophomore from Hayward, Calif., topped the Vaqueros with 14 points and six rebounds. Sixteen Vaqueros got into the game and Pasadena played 13.
Pasadena (2-3) hit 49.1 percent of its field goals. Anthony Gamboa led the Lancers with 16 points and Patric Panoosi added 15 on 4-7 shooting from the 3-point line.
The Vaqueros will host Cerro Coso of Ridgecrest on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. in the second half of a doubleheader. The Vaquero women will take on Antelope Valley at 3 p.m.
