The UCSB women’s basketball team had its three-game win streak snapped on Thursday night at Cal State Fullerton, after being held to under 20 percent from the field in the second half in a 61-48 defeat.

Senior point guard Danae Miller put up a team-high 15 points with three assists, knocking down 3-of-5 from three-point range. Junior center Ila Lane added 14 points on 7-of-9 from the field, also posting eight rebounds and a career-high four steals.

The Gauchos led at the half, 29-27, after shooting 69 percent (9-of-13) in a 21-point second quarter.

The loss leaves the Gauchos at 7-5 in Big West play and 13-8 overall. Cal State Fullerton is 4-8 and 9-13.

Lily Wahinekapu led the Titans with 24 points. For the game, the Titans shot 47 percent to the Gauchos’ 33.3 percent, and posted a 40-27 rebounding advantage.

After splitting their season series with the Titans, the Gauchos will look to do the same on Saturday when they head to Long Beach State looking to avenge last month’s 68-54 defeat, their only home loss this season. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. at Walter Pyramid.
