Timed to coincide with National 211 Day, CommUnify will hold the third annual 211 Community Day Celebration, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 at Earl Warren Showgrounds, 3400 Calle Real, Santa Barbara.

Hosted by the nonprofit’s Energy Services and Head Start programs, this event is free to attend.

As CommUnify serves residents countywide, the event site alternates between north-, mid-, and south county each year. The 2025 celebration is taking place in Santa Barbara for the first time.

Locally, 211 Day will feature some 70 booths from community organizations including Children & Family Resource Service, Puentes/Bridges, Friendship Center, Every Woman Counts, Planned Parenthood, and Community Partners in Caring; and such Santa Barbara County departments as Social Services, WIC, Behavioral Wellness, and the Office of Emergency Management.

The organizations will provide information and giveaways to attendees and offer no-cost vaccines and health screenings for children and adults.

Entertainment includes a live radio broadcast, along with kids’ activities from Santa Barbara Public Library, Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History & Sea Center, Storyteller Children’s Center, and Santa Barbara Museum of Art.

Live music will be provided by ’80s cover band JOYSTIX and the San Marcos High School Jazz Ensemble 12:45-3 p.m. There will be door prizes, and a free lunch for the first 500 attendees.

“I am thrilled that CommUnify and our sponsors are again supporting this event as it shows how invested we all are to having a community where people have access to services and can thrive,” said Alejandra Enciso, CommUnify’s 211 Santa Barbara County program manager.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase the incredible work of the 211 HelpLine and its partner agencies, and to highlight all the amazing free and low-cost services they offer to residents,” Encisco said. “I’m so excited about this event.

“Last year’s event in Santa Maria was a huge success, with over 1,400 residents attending. I hope this year’s South County event will be even more impactful.”

Also on offer at the 211 Community Day celebration are activities for children; vision screenings provided by SEE; haircuts donated by the Cosmoton Barber Academy; and other health screenings, services, and mental health assessments, all at no cost.

Attendee will each receive a raffle ticket and be entered to win door prizes. Free lunches will be provided for the first 500 guests.
