The Community Environmental Council’s (CEC) Climate Fridays Santa Barbara series will hear directly from local leaders working toward climate and coastal resilience, 4-5:30 p.m. Friday, June 5 at the CEC’s Environmental Hub, 1219 State St., Santa Barbara.

Melissa Hetrick, Santa Barbara’s adaptation and resilience manager, will present updates on the city’s Waterfront Adaptation Plan. Dan Galpern of the Climate Protection & Restoration Initiative, will discuss efforts urging the U.S. to remain signed on to the World Climate Treaty.

Hosted by CEC, the Society of Fearless Grandmothers Santa Barbara, and the Santa Barbara Sierra Club, Climate Fridays Santa Barbara brings together climate activists, students, allies, community partners and friends the first Friday of every month to learn, connect, and collaborate for a healthier future, the CEC said.

The events are part of the A Year of Active Hope series, designed to foster community connections, meaningful conversation, and collective action.
