Connie Amancio Tabon, 93, of Santa Maria, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2025. Connie was born in the Philippines on Dec. 7, 1931 to her parents Filomeno and Cornelia Amancio.

Early in life Connie started working as a hairdresser, and after that she spent 38 years working as a nurse’s aide at Marian Regional Medical Center.

When she wasn’t busy tending to others, Connie enjoyed her own hobbies of cooking, gardening, and playing bingo. Connie faithfully attended St Mary’s Church of the Assumption daily.

Connie is survived by her son Miguel Tabon; daughter-in-law Tina Tabon; and granddaughter Madison Tabon of Santa Maria.

Connie is preceded in death by her husband Merit Tabon, and grandson Matthew Tabon.

A Rosary will be held for Connie at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 13 at Dudley Hoffman Chapel. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., also on March 13. Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 14 at St. Mary’s Church of the Assumption, followed immediately by burial at Santa Maria Cemetery.

A reception will be held at the Filipino Community Center, 2270 Preisker Lane, Santa Maria, after the conclusion of the graveside.
