Born and raised in Santa Maria, California, Connie attended St. Mary’s Catholic School before graduating from Santa Maria High School in 1964.

She then attended dental college in San Francisco, where she earned her certification as a dental assistant.

She later dedicated many years to working as an instructional assistant for students with special needs in the San Diego, Santa Maria and Guadalupe school districts, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of the children and families she served.

Connie had a variety of passions that filled her life with joy. A true fashionista, she loved shopping and keeping up with the latest trends.

She found peace and happiness at the beach, enjoyed swimming, appreciated reading a good book, and treasured watching old movies.

Connie had a special love for hosting lively gatherings at her family’s cabin, where her warmth and hospitality brought everyone together.

She was often found laughing with her girlfriends, creating unforgettable memories, or chatting it up with her swim buddies, where her joyful spirit shone brightly.

Above all, Connie’s greatest joy came from her family. She was deeply devoted to her daughters.

Grandma Honey’s warmth and love sparkled brightest when she was with her family. She cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, and she took immense joy in spoiling her beloved dog Charlie.

Known for her sweet demeanor, generosity and kindness to all, Connie touched the hearts of everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Richard Sr. and Ann Katherine Adam; and brothers James Richard Adam Jr. and William Laird Adam.

She is survived by her daughter Erin Stevenson, and son-in-law Craig Stevenson; daughter Shannon Lopez and son-in-law Jeff Lopez; grandchildren Kristen Kight, Chelsea Edwards, Sidney Butler, Lauren Lopez and Ryan Lopez; three great-grandchildren Kensi Blake, Falcon Jaymes, and Zayne Richard; and a large circle of family and friends who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

Connie’s legacy of love, kindness, laughter and devotion will live on through those who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary, 1003 E. Stowell Road, Santa Maria. A celebration of life will follow immediately at Connie’s lifelong home in Santa Maria.
