It is with great sadness that the family of Constance “Connie” Marie Tafelski announces her passing after 92 years of a wonderful life. She was born July 31, 1934 in Park Falls, Wisconsin, to Orville and Mary Wells.
Connie was the beloved wife of Raymond “Ray” Tafelski and loving mother of Mark Tafelski (Reta), Jill Lowry (Bob), and Jodi Colbern (Dennis).
While working for Delco Electronics, Ray accepted a transfer to California, where he and Connie moved the family to Santa Barbara into a house she enjoyed for 53 years.
After raising their children, Connie went to work at Santa Barbara Research, where she ultimately retired.
Family was and always remained a central focus in Connie’s life where her home was the center for many family gatherings while decorating the home for all of the holiday celebrations.
In her spare time, Connie enjoyed participating in bowling and golf leagues with her friends, baking, chasing her grandchildren to watch different sporting events, vacationing in many different destination, taking trips to casinos, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
Her greatest love was quilting. Connie designed and created numerous quilts, many of which were gifted to family, friends and charity.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband Ray; daughter Jill Lowry; granddaughter Deanna (Lowry) DeLarge; sister Carol Jean Eineichner; and brother-in-law Jim Eineichner.
She is survived by her children Mark and Jodi; grandchildren Kyle and Tyler Lowry, Keith and Bryce Tafelski, Nick and Courtney Colbern; 12 great grandchildren; nieces Robin and Dawn Eineichner; and cousin Maxine Kilger.
Connie was a devout Catholic and lived her life following the church’s teaching. She was loved by all who knew her, had a generous soul, and will be deeply missed by her family and closest friends.
Upon her passing on Aug. 18, 2026, our family would like to thank her staff of attending physicians and local hospitals for the care they provided in recent years.
A memorial service is being planned at St. Raphael Church with a date and time to be announced in the future.
