Goleta residents are invited to beat the heat during a summer edition of Coffee & Community, 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29 at Ice in Paradise Skating Rink’s Rinkside Café, 6985 Santa Felicia Drive, Goleta.

Join Dist. 4 Councilmember Stuart Kasdin, Mayor Paula Perotte, and Lt. Jarret Morris, Goleta’s chief of Police Services, for coffee and conversation.

The event offers an opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback, and get updates on key topics impacting western Goleta, such as airport noise, housing, homelessness, traffic safety, and projects like the Barnsdall Rio-Grande gas station.

Spanish interpretation will be available.

Ice in Paradise will provide complimentary coffee and muffins, and activities for the kids outside the Rinkside Café and free skate passes (not including skate rental).

“The start of a new school year is always busy, but I hope you can take time out of your Saturday morning to come connect at this community gathering,” Kasdin said. “I look forward to seeing you and hearing what is important to you in western Goleta.”

“I really enjoy attending Coffee & Community events throughout the year. I get to see familiar faces, meet more of our community members, and bring the conversation to you,” said Mayor Paula Perotte.

While this is a casual event, Kasdin will welcome everyone at 9:30 a.m. followed by a time to discuss hot local topics and ask questions.

Community members are invited to attend any Coffee & Community event regardless of their home district.
