The Coroner’s Bureau has identified the man who was found dead in the Santa Barbara Harbor last week.

William Langdon Proctor, 79, of Santa Barbara, was found dead on July 12, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Raquel Zick said.

“His death appears accidental; however, the final cause and manner of death are pending,” she said in a statement Wednesday.

The Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Bureau is investigating the death.

KEYT reported last week that the person found dead in the water near the harbor’s boat launch was a liveaboard whose boat was their main residence.

No further information was available.
