Cottage Health has achieved Epic Gold Stars Level 10 designation, the highest level of recognition awarded by Epic for use of its electronic health record (EHR) platform.
The recognition reflects Cottage Health’s use of Epic’s latest tools and capabilities to support clinical decision-making, streamline workflows, enhance patient access and strengthen the overall care experience, Cottage Health said.
“Achieving Level 10 reflects the collaboration of teams across Cottage Health and our commitment to continually improving how we use technology,” said Ganesh Persad, chief information officer at Cottage Health.
“By fully leveraging Epic, we are supporting more efficient care and a more connected
experience for patients and our teams,” Persad said.
For patients, the designation reflects continued investment in tools that make it easier to access information and manage their care, according to Cottage Health.
Through MyChart, patients can review test results, schedule appointments, request medication refills and communicate securely with their care team.
Epic’s Gold Stars program evaluates how effectively hospitals and health systems adopt and use features within the EHR. The 10-level program measures performance across areas including patient access and experience, clinical quality and safety, population health and physician and nursing productivity.
Awarded annually to qualifying health systems, Level 10 recognizes organizations demonstrating advanced and comprehensive use of the Epic platform.
