Santa Barbara County Animal Services’ three shelters in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and Lompoc are temporarily closed.
Stray animal intakes are still available at all three locations. The public should call ahead to 833-422-8413, and a staff member will meet them at the shelter door.
The shelters are closed because computer systems are down at all three locations on Thursday. The software is used for adoptions, intakes, lost pet reunification and licensing. Staff and animal care continue as normal.
The shelters are located at:
- Santa Barbara Shelter, 5473 Overpass Road, Santa Barbara 93111
- Santa Maria Shelter, 548 W. Foster Road, Santa Maria 93455
- Lompoc Shelter, 1501 W. Central Ave., Lompoc 93436
For animal related questions, the main line 833-422-8413 is staffed 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
