Firefighters quickly extinguished a small blaze in the attic of an Orcutt home on Sunday afternoon.

Shortly after 5 p.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and Santa Maria Fire Department were dispatched to the fire on the 1500 block of Oak Bluffs Drive, said Karen Cruz-Orduña, a spokesperson for the county agency.

Firefighters found the blaze burning in the two-story, single-family residence, and extinguished the flames by 5:25 p.m., Cruz-Orduña added.

Since residential sprinklers activated inside the residence, firefighters remained at the scene working to remove water from the home, Cruz-Orduña said.

No one was injured in the incident.

An American Medical Response ambulance crew and Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office deputies also were dispatched to the incident.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation late Sunday.
