The Santa Barbara County Elections Office certified results Friday for the March 5 election, and there were no changes in major races from previous ballot counts.
The First District – Santa Barbara to Carpinteria, and also Cuyama – had the highest voter turnout, likely because of the competitive county supervisor race.
Overall turnout was 41.9%, but the First District race between incumbent Das Williams and challenger Roy Lee had 47.3% turnout among registered voters.
Lee pulled out a victory with almost 51% of the vote – which represented 565 more votes than Williams.
Lee is a Carpinteria city councilman and restaurant owner, and Williams has been an elected official for about 20 years, including time at the Santa Barbara City Council, State Assembly, and County Board of Supervisors.
The other two districts with supervisorial races also reported higher-than-average voter turnout.
Supervisors Joan Hartmann and Bob Nelson easily won re-election in the Third District and Fourth District, respectively.
The four-year terms start in 2025 for all three supervisors elected to their seats in March.
