The Santa Barbara County Health Department is inviting community members to a Free Flu Vaccine event, 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 at the Santa Maria Veterans Memorial Hall, 313 W. Tunnell St.

Free flu vaccinations will be given to anyone ages 3 and older, regardless of insurance status. No appointment is necessary.

“County Health is committed to ensuring equitable access to preventive health services across the county. By hosting this free flu vaccine clinic in North County, the department aims to remove barriers to care and make it easier for residents to stay protected this season,” the county said.

“It is important to protect as many people in our communities as we can from the flu because it can potentially be deadly, especially for the elderly and the very young,” said Dr. Henning Ansorg, Public Health officer.

“The best way to protect yourself, your family, and your community against the flu is by getting vaccinated,” Dr. Ansorg said.
