The Housing Authority of the County of Santa Barbara (HASBARCO) brought holiday cheer to hundreds of children and their families by hosting Season of Joy toy distributions at its properties throughout the county.

Children ages 12 and under received free toys, many of which were provided by the United Way of Santa Barbara County. Families were also treated to a variety of holiday goodies, including pizza, chocolate milk, candy canes and cookies.

To the children’s delight, Kris Kringle made special appearances at some of the events.

“The joy on the faces of the children and their families was truly magical,” said Maria Ayala, HASBARCO resident services manager. “We are grateful to our partners, United Way of Santa Barbara County and the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County, for helping us make this season brighter for so many in our community.”

The events were made possible through the collaborative efforts of HASBARCO, United Way of Santa Barbara County, and Foodbank of Santa Barbara County.

“The holidays can be a challenging time for many families, and we are proud to play a role in spreading joy and creating memories that will last a lifetime,” said Patricia Limon, HASBARCO resident services specialist.
