County emergency managers issued an evacuation order for some properties in the Lake Fire burn area due to a storm arriving Wednesday that could result in flooding and debris flows.

Residents living near or within the Lake Fire burn area should prepare to leave by filling gas tanks, packing important documents and essential items such as medications, county officials said.

Families with large animals, children, seniors, or people with disabilities that need assistance with transportation are advised to leave now.

Residents are advised to not drive while it’s dark or raining as roads may be damaged or cars could get swept away in moving water or debris.

Residents not living within the evacuation warning area are advised to stay away from burned areas, creeks, rivers, and flood-prone locations. People living in flood-prone locations should stay aware of changing conditions and have an evacuation plan.
