Cox Charities awarded a total of $10,000 in grants to three Santa Barbara nonprofits with programs that meet the needs of the community and support K-12 STEM education, conservation and sustainability, and military and veterans.
The 2022 nonprofit grant recipients in Santa Barbara are:
PathPoint to provide assistive technology services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Santa Barbara Zoological Foundation for smart technology devices for its Outdoor Education program.
SEE International to run a free vision clinic for veterans.
Cox Charities, a philanthropic foundation funded by employee donations matched by the company, has served California communities since 1999. Cox Charities giving efforts are overseen by a volunteer board of Cox employees.
To date, Cox Charities has contributed $8 million to Cox California’s local communities, including Santa Barbara, Palos Verdes, Orange County, and San Diego.
In 2022, Cox Communications’ parent company, Cox Enterprises, launched a companywide 34 by 34 social impact initiative aimed at removing obstacles and expanding access to programs to help 34 million people live more prosperous lives by 2034.
Focus areas for the national initiative include technology access, access to lifelong education, employment skills, social equity, environmental sustainability, and good health.
