Firefighters responded Wednesday morning to a report of a detached garage on fire on the 100 block of A Street in Lompoc.

Crews with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the Lompoc City Fire Department and Vandenberg Fire personnel first converged on the area at around 7:15 a.m. for a report of a fully engulfed structure.

Fire Capt. Mike Gray said at 7:55 a.m. that firefighters are “currently making strong progress attacking the blaze.”

No injuries were reported and the cause remained under investigation.

“For the safety of the public and our personnel, please avoid the area,” Gray added. “Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available
