Fire crews knocked down a 1-acre vegetation fire in the Lompoc Valley Friday afternoon, Santa Barbara County Fire Department spokesperson Karen Cruz-Orduña confirmed.

Emergency personnel first responded to the area of Rucker Road and Calle Lindero at around 3:52 p.m. The fire was knocked down at 4:30 p.m.

Fire crews and other resources were mopping up the area around 5 p.m., per Cruz-Orduña.

The cause was under investigation, Cruz-Orduña said.
