Emergency crews responded Monday morning to a hiker rescue at Nojoqui Falls Park.
Santa Barbara County Fire Department spokesperson Karen Cruz-Orduña confirmed crews responded to the scene around 10:25 a.m. to help a woman who fell and hurt her ankle while hiking.
She was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, Cruz-Orduña said.
County Fire officials took the rescue as an opportunity to remind hikers in remote areas to “wear sturdy footwear, carry plenty of water, use trekking poles on uneven terrain, stay on designated trails, and let someone know your route and expected return time before heading out.”
No additional information was available.
