Emergency crews responded Wednesday afternoon to an injured person on the beach between Hope Ranch and Arroyo Burro Beach in Santa Barbara.

Personnel first converged on the area about a mile and a half west of Arroyo Burro Beach — also known as Hendry’s Beach — shortly before 5 p.m.

Santa Barbara City Fire Department Battalion Chief Jon Turner said crews were responding from both the Hope Ranch area and the beach access point.

Emergency radio traffic indicated the patient was in the water.

Additional information was not immediately available.
