Fire crews responded Monday afternoon to a vegetation fire in Casmalia near Vandenberg Space Force Base.

Emergency personnel responded at around 1:20 p.m. for a vegetation fire that was burning along the railroad tracks near Point Sal and Black roads.

Personnel at the scene reported a 50×50-foot vegetation fire that had burned a handful of sheds in the area, per emergency radio traffic.

The fire did not appear to be affecting railroad operations in the area.

Crews from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and other agencies responded to the blaze and some crews remained at the scene as of 2:30 p.m.
