Daniel Earl Strub, age 68, passed away on Aug. 10, 2026. Born on June 10, 1958 in Harrison, Ohio, he lived and worked in Lompoc for more than 30 years.

A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, he served in the Air Force for 12 years, where he attained the rank of captain. During this time, he was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base and fell in love with the area.

After discharge from the Air Force, he returned to Lompoc with his family and remained there until his death.

Daniel built a long, respected career in system safety while working for the Air Force at Vandenberg Space Force Base for the last 28 years.

Daniel is survived by his son Alex Strub; brother Darren Strub (Debbie) of Indiana; sister Julie Meyer (Gary) of Kentucky; sister-in-law Amy Strub of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Phyliss Strub, and brother Donald Strub.

Daniel’s dedication to his work, his service to his country, and his place in the lives of those who knew him will not be forgotten. Service arrangements will be announced at a later date.
