The city of Goleta regrets to announce it has cancelled this year’s Goleta Dam Dinner at Lake Los Carneros.

For the past seven years, community members have gathered for the traditional event, which has grown in popularity each year; close to 400 people attended in 2019.

The Dam Dinner is typically held in mid-August right before the school year begins. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the city decided to cancel the 2020 event, in accordance with public health guidelines that require limiting social contact and avoiding gatherings.

“Although we cancelled the dinner this year, its wonderful spirit lives on, and I look forward to seeing you all at the Dam Dinner next year,” said Mayor Paula Perotte.

The Annual Goleta Dam Dinner is organized by the city of Goleta, Goleta Chamber of Commerce, Goleta Valley Historical Society, and Big Hammer Lures. It began as a community event in 2012 for residents to get to know one another, listen to live music, and enjoy dinner outside in a beautiful setting.
