Election results showed Solvang Mayor David Brown on track for another term in the seat, with 68.2% of the vote. Denise El Amin trailed with 30.1% of the vote.

Brown was elected mayor in 2024 and managed the city’s urban growth boundary while sticking true to the community’s Danish style.

El Amin has had a long career in negotiating as an AT&T union representative. Her campaign advocated for administrative reform, improved transparency and short-term community projects.

Also on the ballot were two four-year City Council seats, representing District 3 and District 4, with each having one candidate running unopposed.

Incumbent Louise Smith had 98.4% of the vote to continue as the District 3 council member. She has been on the City Council for two years.

Incumbent Elizabeth Orona had 95.2% of the vote to continue as the District 4 representative. She has been on the City Council for four years.

The incoming mayor and council members will take office in December, joining District 1 member Mark Infanti and District 2 member Claudia Orona.

Semi-official election results were released around 1:48 a.m. Wednesday and additional updates will be released in the coming days as more ballots are processed and counted. Final, certified results will be available by Dec. 3.
