It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah Kathleen Curtis Weeks, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend, who left this world on June 2, 2025.

Deborah was a vibrant spirit whose laughter and love touched the lives of all who knew her.

Born to Kathleen Gerelda Starr and Claude Hamilton Curtis on Jan. 11, 1947 in San Francisco, California. Raised in Hawaii before attending Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Debbie was a beacon of joy and humor.

Her infectious laughter could light up any room, and her playful spirit brought warmth and happiness to her family and friends.

She had a unique ability to find joy in the simplest of moments, whether it was sharing a silly joke or embarking on a daring adventure.

Debbie had a profound love for music, often filling her home with melodies that resonated with her soul. She cherished the moments spent camping with her family, where stories were shared around the campfire, and memories were made under the stars.

Hiking through nature’s beauty was another passion of hers, as she found peace and inspiration in the great outdoors.

An avid needleworker, Debbie created beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and love for craftsmanship. Her hands were always busy, whether it was stitching a quilt for a loved one or crafting a thoughtful gift.

She poured her heart into everything she did, leaving a legacy of love in each creation.

Debbie was deeply religious, finding strength and solace in her faith. She instilled these values in her family, guiding them with love and compassion.

Her adventurous spirit led her to travel to many places, creating unforgettable memories with her siblings and family along the way. The bonds she formed with them were unbreakable, filled with laughter, love, and shared experiences that will be cherished forever.

Debbie’s siblings are Claude, Betty, Paul, Tim, Lois, Phil and Sam. Debbie married Edwin Weeks in 1989 and created a blended family. Their children are David, Steve, Mike, Pam, Doug Weeks, Bob Crandall, Raul Zaragoza, Laura Cogan, Mike Zaragoza, Gil Velasquez.

Grandmother and Tutu to dozens of loving grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit, and her legacy will continue to live on through the love she shared and the memories they created together.

As we remember Debbie, let us celebrate her life filled with humor, love and adventure. She taught us to embrace life with open arms and to find joy in every moment.

Her spirit will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us as we navigate the world without her.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.

Rest in peace, dear Mom, Tutu. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
