Santa Barbara Airport passengers hoping to fly to Atlanta will have to find another route starting next year.
Delta Airlines has announced that it will end flights to Atlanta on Jan. 20 and will instead focus on its other routes.
Lauren Gonzales, marketing director for the Santa Barbara Airport, confirmed that Delta is ending the service.
“Unfortunately, Delta was experiencing logistical challenges with aircraft and crew staffing,” Gonzales said. “They will focus their efforts on supporting service to Salt Lake City.”
Gonzales said Delta is planning to increase its daily frequency to Salt Lake City to two or three times a day beginning in April. She said the increased service will allow passengers to more easily connect to other parts of the country and international destinations.
Delta originally launched the routes to Atlanta and Salt Lake in June 2024.
The news comes as the airport has announced changes in other flights.
United Airlines announced in October that it was bringing back its Chicago service in April 2026 and would continue the route until at least December.
Alaska Airlines also announced it was bringing back daily flights to San Diego beginning in April.
