Laura DeLoye, who has an extensive background in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, will give a free lecture on the 10 Warning Signs of Dementia, 6 p.m. April 16 at Dick DeWees Community and Senior Center, 1120 W. Ocean Ave., Lompoc.
DeLoye, is the program and education manager for the Alzheimer’s Association’s California Central Coast Chapter. Her lecture is sponsored by the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation. Reservations are not required.
DeLoye’s talk will cover typical age-related changes, common warning signs of Alzheimer’s, how to approach someone about memory concerns, the benefits of early detection, the diagnostic process; and will include Alzheimer’s Association resources.
At the Alzheimer’s Association, DeLoye coordinates support groups, education programs, information and referrals, as well as care consultations. She has worked in all levels of care with older adults and caregivers for more than 25 years.
