Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a woman suspected of robbing an Eastside Santa Barbara bank last month.
Jaclynn Marie Blackwell, a 32-year-old Carpinteria resident, was arrested on Tuesday, exactly a month after a reported robbery at the Mechanics Bank branch at 914 Carpinteria St., according to Santa Barbara Police Sgt. Bryan Kerr.
On Feb. 11, Blackwell allegedly entered the bank and informed the teller that she was armed with a gun, though no weapon was seen. Blackwell reportedly fled the area with an undisclosed amount of money southbound on Milpas Street, according to Kerr.
At the time, the robbery suspect was described as a white woman in her mid-to-late 20s, with long light brown hair, wearing a light pink sweatshirt and black leggings. Police obtained surveillance footage of the suspect and released it to the public.
Santa Barbara police detectives identified Blackwell as the suspect and sheriff’s deputies arrested her Tuesday on the outstanding warrant, Kerr said.
She was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on $500,000 bail, according to Kerr.
