Detectives are investigating after a body was found along Harris Grade Road north of Lompoc, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched at about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday to the 4700 block of Harris Grade Road on a report of a possible deceased person, said Raquel Zick, sheriff’s public information office.

“When deputies arrived, they found an obviously deceased person off the side of the road,” Zick said. “Deputies secured the area overnight and detectives continued the investigation Wednesday morning.”

The identity of the deceased and the circumstances of the death were not being released as of Wednesday afternoon.
