In honor of Dia de los Muertos, District Attorney John T. Savrnoch invites the community to visit the altar in the Santa Barbara District Attorney’s Office lobby, 1112 Santa Barbara St., 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1.
The altar, constructed by the Association San Miguel, honors those who have passed away and symbolizes the impact that those who have passed continue to have on our lives moving forward, Savrnoch said.
The celebration will feature a 12:30 p.m. performance by the Alma de Mexico dance group.
The altar will remain on display during business hours for community members to visit, reflect, and share stories of their own loved ones.
Savrnoch thanks Georgina Rodriguez, district attorney investigative assistant; and the Association San Miguel for their efforts in creating the celebration.
“Together, let us pay tribute to those who have passed, reflect on the value of life, and honor the enduring connections that bind us all,” Savrnoch said.
