Seven Dos Pueblos players had multi-hit games and Kaitlyn Ashby pitched a five-inning shutout for the Chargers in a 17-0 softball win against Santa Barbara High in a Channel League game on Monday.
Georgia Miller went 3 for 3 with a RBI and Rylee Cathcart went 2-2 with two RBIs as Dos Pueblos banged out 18 hits. Eleanor Lemon had a double and drove in a run.
“I’m proud of Rylee and Eleanor who took advantage of their opportunities today and got some hits,” said coach Mike Gerken. “Both put really good swings on the ball. Kaitlyn Ashby was consistently hitting her spots and threw over 70% strikes today. They hit the ball hard a few times, but our defense took care of us.”
Ashby allowed three hits and had no walks in a game that was called because of the mercy rule.
