Dos Pueblos boys lacrosse battled its way to a 14-10 non-league victory over Oaks Christian on Monday.
The Chargers (13-0, 4-0 Channel League) remained undefeated on the season with the win over the defending CIF-SS Div. 3 champion Lions.
Dos Pueblos got on the board first with two quick goals courtesy of Gus Miller and Parker Bentley, both assisted by Orion Prewarski.
However, Oaks Christian then rattled off four unanswered goals before Miller rounded out the first-quarter scoring to bring the Lions’ lead to 4-3 heading into the second.
Dos Pueblos flipped the script in the first, outscoring Oaks Christian 4-1 thanks to three goals by Dan Finneran. Koa Birchim also scored to give the Chargers a 7-5 lead at halftime.
The third quarter was a back-and-forth affair until the Lions ripped off three goals in the final two minutes of the quarter to tie the game at 9-9.
Dos Pueblos took over in the fourth quarter behind a dominant 7-for-7 performance on faceoffs by Cal Denier, who was 19-for-26 in the game.
The Chargers held the ball for 9:45 of the final 12 minutes of play to regain the momentum and pull away for the 14-10 victory.
Danny Perez had a big game in the goal for Dos Pueblos, collecting 15 saves on the night.
Meanwhile, Dan Finneran led the way with four goals and Miller ended the day with three of his own.
Roman Christou and Jack Finneran tallied two goals apiece while Birchim, Bentley and Prewarski rounded out the scoring. Prewarski also recorded four assists.
The Chargers will host Cate for Senior Night on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
