Dos Pueblos boys lacrosse’s defense took center stage in a 15-1 rout of Castaic in a non-league game on Saturday at Scott O’Leary Stadium.
The Chargers did not concede a goal in the first three quarters while the offense scored six in the first, four in the second, three in the third and two in the fourth to pull away for the win.
“I was happy with how our guys executed today,” Dos Pueblos head coach Lucas Martinez said. “This could very easily have been a trap game, shorthanded after a busy week, but we took a ‘next man up’ mindset and really saw some great play from the guys who were here.”
Orion Prewarski filled up the stat sheet for Dos Pueblos with five goals and five assists. Meanwhile, Cal Denier’s standout play continued as he went 10-for-10 on faceoffs and dished out two assists.
Dan Finneran chipped in three goals and four assists while Gus Miller tallied three goals of his own. Koa Brichim scored twice and both Austin Fauver and Finn Nelson-Walker found the back of the net.
The Chargers (8-0, 1-0 Channel League) will host Mullen High of Colorado on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
